DiscoverRoussillon
Roussillon is famous for its colorful houses and narrow streets. The bell tower and facade of Saint-Michel church, built in the 17th century, are particularly impressive.
The former Mathieu ochre factory is also not to be missed. Today, this factory is an eco-museum called Ôkhra, offering guided tours. Ôkhra also offers temporary exhibitions and houses a research center for pigments and ochres.
Whatever the season, it’s also pleasant to retreat to the heights of Roussillon, on the high plateaux, and enjoy a breathtaking view of the ochre cliffs. These cliffs are one of the village’s many attractions and are easily accessible from the entrance to Roussillon. There are numerous hiking trails leading to various lookouts at the top of the cliffs, allowing you to admire the full beauty of this remarkable environment.
Mont Ventoux rises majestically in front of you. It’s easy to see why this mountain is considered a monument of Provence. You can see it from the information panel at the top of the village.
